West Bengal Madrasah Service Commission

The West Bengal Madrasah Service Commission was established by enactment of The West Bengal Madrasah Service Commission Act, 2008 with effect from 22nd October 2008 under Minority Affairs & Madrasah Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal for selection of qualified Headmasters, Headmistress, Superintendents, Assistant Teachers, Under Graduate Teachers, Librarians, Clerks and Group-D Staff to different Non-Govt. aided Madrasahs in the State of West Bengal through transparent recruitment process.
The West Bengal Madrasah Service Commission consists of one Chairman & four Members.

Major Functions

The main activities of the Commission are to recommend candidates in the following categories

A. Teaching Category of: a. Headmasters /Headmistress in High/Higher Secondary Madrasah or Superintendent in Senior Madrasah b. Headmaster/Headmistress of a Jr. High Madrasah c. Assistant Teacher against Honours/ Post Graduate Vacancy d. Assistant Teacher against Pass vacancy e. Assistant Teacher against Under graduate Vacancy B. Non-Teaching Category of: a. Librarian b. Group-C (Clerk) c. Group-D (Peon/ Matron/Lab. Attendant/Night Guard, etc.) as detailed in the Gazette Notification Memo No. 1641-MD dated 11th November 2010 in the State of West Bengal through the selection process as detailed in the above mention Gazette Notification which includes different predefined and well-advertised competitive examination conducted by the Commission as per its Rules.

• The Commission also recommends Die-in-Harness candidates as per report/information received from the concerned District Inspector of School (SE) under Rule 32 of Rules of 2010 of the Commission

• General transfer & Mutual transfer of Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff of Non-Govt. aided Madrasahs in West Bengal on the basis of Rules 33 & 34 of Rules of 2010 of the Commission.

Our Achievements

The Commission conducted the 6th State Level Selection Test, 2013 (AT) for recruitment of Assistant Teachers for different Non-Govt. aided Madrasahs through the selection process and as per order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court dated 17.05.2018 in CA No. 5808 of 2018, 2570 candidates were recommended in different willing Non-Govt. aided Madrasahs in West Bengal in the year 2018-2019.
