Integrated Minority Development Programme (IMDP): With a view to extend developmental works in non-MsDP districts having substantial minority population (20%-25%), this scheme has been introduced 21 blocks of 13 districts by the State Government. During the last five years works similar to MsDP has been taken up involving Rs. 378 Cr. in these districts.
Housing: To improve the quality of life of minority communities in West Bengal and to fulfil the commitment of the State Government for providing “Shelter to All” – 1,86,496 units of housing have been constructed at a cost of Rs. 1,871 crore under various housing schemes. In 2018-19, MA & ME Department has provided a record number of 33,306 houses to destitute minority women. The target for the year 2019-20 is more than 36,000.
Boundary wall for graveyards: Protection of the public graveyards, mazars and dargas and safeguarding the same from encroachment and defilation was taken up. A total of 5,192 such boundary walls have been taken up so far. Total fund release is around Rs. 563 Cr.
